Practical Ways of Dealing with the Myth of Perfection

Many people are preoccupied with the misconception of being perfect in everything. They think that for you to be effective in this world, you should appear like a smart looking, slick and fast talking salesman, who portrays the vibe of success and a sense of perfection in all they do. You will realize that this is definitely untrue. Actually, striving for perfection in your appearance, whatever you say and how you say it at times have a detrimental impact on your degree of social influence.

In most cases, if you seem to be perfect to other people, they might struggle to interact with you and you may end up losing connection. However, this does not imply that you should not work hard to iron out any rough edges and attempt to be as articulate as you can be.

What you should recognize is that by presenting yourself to the public as a normal individual, flaws included, you can easily interact with people and be able to connect with them at an honest and natural level. Besides, you should never harbor the notion that to be accepted, you need to be like someone else. You should always be yourself, with flaws.

At times, you feel imperfect just because of insufficiency and luck. This can easily make you hold to the notion of perfection that may go something like this: if the store is devoid of your favorite cookie, pie or Brownie then your life as a non-baker has come to an end or your dinner is ruined. You may also imagine that if your child does not get any cupcake and yet other children get cupcakes then your child will possibly spend his or her lifetime within therapy finding out every distress to that key pre-school moment.
There are days that you coast along within a zone while others become a struggle from the minute you open your eyes. This might trigger you to ask why each day should not as smooth as the preceding one. This is part of the myth of perfection.

Living well is a marathon race rather than a sprint.  A balanced life is both fluid and dynamic, not only moment-by-moment but at times day-by-day. The goal should not be to let yourself to be controlled by the unrealistic of being perfect but to remain being cliché which is to mean remaining connected to that which is most significant-family, friends, an unbroken circle by your special arrangements.

Put succinctly, balance is the concept that you cannot cancel success through the inevitable setbacks but it can rather be buttressed by them. A complete and rich life is not a product of an experience you can point to; it is an accumulation.

When you choose to release your all-or-nothing perspective, you will realize a satisfaction you have not longed for. Rather than sticking to the idea that there exists a single scented candle or room spray which cannot cause a reaction, you will fling the windows wide open and recall deep within the DNA a fragrance of fresh air on your sheets. It is hard to imagine that can be your second choice but it is!

As a good parent, you should always strive to keep your child from danger regardless of what it may cost. We are all shields to other humans: a stray peanut may be as detrimental as a bullet. However, you cannot keep your children from disappointment, nor should you even try.

Difficult times are what strengthen the spine. It is what enables you to be flexible, grow and become a realistic, creative adult. Moreover, it is often what will motivate to make a real achievement. How can you keep your children from such a motivation?

Therefore, whenever the old all-or-nothing myth crosses your mind, you need to tell yourself that each day contains lunch, breakfast and dinner plus several snacks. That makes 1,825 opportunities for eating each year. If you miss one, another one will be coming up soon! Thus, you can relax and breathe since tomorrow is just another meal time.
